Course Description

Narrative Sermon Construction - Discovering the stages of the narrative such as setting, conflict, resolution and application. How to construct a narrative sermon from research to presentation.

Course Objectives

  1. To learn to identify the specific stages of narrative within the Biblical Text.
  2. To analize how each of these stages contribute to the effectiveness of the whole and grab the attention of the listener.
  3. To prepare a full narrative manuscript to be critiqued by other students for it various strengths and weakenesses.
  4. To preach and make application of the narrative sermon in the local church situation.

Course Prerequisites

None required, but if student is not familiar with narrative form, they should consider taking 5081 Introduction to Narrative first.
